Choose your first car park before you reach the village
For the main Woolacombe Beach day with toilets, food, surf hire and the shortest walk with children, aim for The Esplanade or Sandy Burrows first. They are the village-end beach car parks, so they make the most sense when you are carrying boards, windbreaks, picnic bags or a pushchair.
For a longer beach day, dog walk or dunes walk where you do not need to be right beside the shops, Marine Drive is usually the calmer choice. It sits behind the dunes and is managed by the National Trust.
